MORE DETAILS deadCenter Teen Board The deadCenter Teen Board is made up of high school filmmakers from Oklahoma City-area schools, with plans to expand to additional schools in the future. The Teen Board engages in outreach and applies the mission, vision, and goals of deadCenter to support young and emerging filmmakers in Oklahoma City — providing the access and resources needed to develop their voices and skills. The Teen Board is responsible for screening high school festival submissions and selecting the Best High School Short award, offering students a valuable look into the inner workings of a film festival. Members meet a minimum of four times a year, visit local participating studios, plan a teen-focused event for the festival, and receive right of first refusal for spots in the limited-enrollment deadCenter University program. Part quest for justice. Part journey towards healing. Decorated Nashville cop Mark Wynn wrestles with his own violent childhood while working to reform decades of domestic violence mishandling, cover-ups, and abuse from deep within law enforcement. With access to sensitive police trainings, the film explores the complex relationship between police and family violence. GRAB YOUR TICKETS Volunteer News Over the past couple of months, deadCenter Film has been hard at work reimagining the future of our volunteer program. Last month, we launched a new feature — our Volunteer Spotlight — in the newsletter to begin highlighting the amazing individuals who make our work possible. As we prepare to officially roll out our revamped volunteer program, the Volunteer Spotlight will now be featured in a new monthly newsletter dedicated entirely to our volunteer community. Stay tuned — more details about the program are coming very soon. Thank you for your patience and continued support as we build a better, more meaningful way to recognize and celebrate our incredible volunteers. Grants Update deadCenter is thrilled to share that we’ve received two new grant awards! The first is an $18,300 Arts in Alternative Education Community Partnership Grant from the Oklahoma Arts Council, which will fund three deadCenter University programs this fall at Dimensions Academy (Norman Public Schools), Warrior Alternative Center (Anadarko Public Schools), and Faver School (Guthrie Public Schools). At each site, students will team up with mentors to produce a short film that will premiere at dCFF26. Huge thanks to @oklahomaartscouncil and @neaarts for making this possible. We’ve also received a $15,000 general operating support grant from the Oklahoma City Community Foundation through its Culture and Community Grant program. We’re deeply grateful for this support, which helps us continue our legacy of delivering meaningful, film-centered programming.
