We were privileged to organize and present Oklahoma Thespian's Oklahoma Filmworks on November 9th at Southmoore High School. This exciting event provided participants with a unique opportunity to engage with and learn from local industry professionals representing various specialties within the film industry. Attendees gained valuable insights into the inner workings of the film world, exploring topics ranging from production and directing to cinematography, editing, and more. These expert-led sessions were designed to inspire and educate aspiring filmmakers, offering them a closer look at the skills, creativity, and collaboration that drive the thriving Oklahoma film scene.
We had the honor of programming the Latino Community Development Agency (LCDA) Latino Clubs Media Week in late July. Students from first through sixth-grade dove into the world of media with a fantastic lineup of guest speakers and mentors. These professionals brought their expertise from diverse fields like broadcast journalism, acting, documentary filmmaking, and film production. They got hands-on with claymation, delved into the main stages of film production, engaged in acting exercises, and colored in storyboards. Each activity was designed to give them a comprehensive understanding of the filmmaking process. Their journey culminated in creating a short film of their own!
