PROGRAMMER PICK
Documentary Shorts
Oklahoma City Museum of Art, Noble Theater, 4:30pm
415 Couch Dr.
Pride Programmer Laron Chapman says, “In honor of deadCenter’s first year of the Oscar®-qualifying category Best Documentary Short, this program highlights seven of the phenomenal short documentaries featured in the 2025 festival. Selections span personal and global subjects, a variety of storytelling modes, and voices from home and abroad.” For Shorts Programmer Julia Witcher, entre le feu et le clair de lune (between the fire and the moonlight) is a can’t miss: “Director Dominic Yarabe retells a story from her father’s childhood during a war in Côte d'Ivoire, weaving together experimental techniques with his oral history and beautiful scenes from his Ivorian village. She blurs the lines between documentary and fiction, reality and dreams, and the result is mesmerizing.”
Animated Shorts
Harkins Bricktown Theatres, Auditorium 13, 5:30pm
415 Couch Dr.
Nine visually stunning short films offer reflections on the natural world – our communal impact on nature and its impact on us, our personal relationships with plans and animals, and humans as both domesticated and untamed creatures.
