This just in! The deadCenter Film Festival has received a prestigious new honor from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, earning Oscar®-qualifying status for Best Documentary Short. Winners in ALL THREE of the Academy’s short film categories – Best Animated Short, Best Live Action Short, and Best Documentary Short – will be eligible for nominations for the biggest award in film, further solidifying deadCenter as a premier platform for filmmakers striving for industry excellence.


To mark our 25th anniversary, deadCenter has partnered with Inasmuch Foundation

to sponsor the Inasmuch Foundation Award for Best Documentary Short.

This partnership celebrates the foundation’s transformative contributions to the

arts in Oklahoma and underscores deadCenter’s mission to elevate impactful storytelling. The Inasmuch Foundation Award for Best Documentary Short

will debut at dCFF25 in June.

dCFF24 Feature “Saucedo”

“Saucedo,” Emmett Berg’s feature documentary that had its World Premiere on opening night of dCFF24, is finally available to view on Netflix. The film centers on Oklahoma City boxer Alex Saucedo and his journey to redefine himself after an injury sustained in a championship fight ended his illustrious career.
