Oklahoma Film ICON and dCFF23 award winner Erica Trembla’s feature debut, ‘Fancy Dance,’ starring Academy Award nominee Lily Gladstone, has been acquired for distribution by Apple Original Films! The critically acclaimed film — shot primarily in Oklahoma — took home ‘Best Indigenous Feature’ and ‘Best Narrative Feature’ at the 23rd Annual deadCenter Film Festival, and will be released in cinemas and on Apple TV+ later this year.

Reservation Dogs, the Emmy-nominated television series created by Holdenville native and University of Oklahoma graduate Sterlin Harjo, aired its final episode last week after three award-winning seasons. Produced by FX and streamed on Hulu, Reservation Dogs is the first television series to feature all Native American writers and directors and the first to film entirely in Oklahoma.

Time Bomb Y2K recently screened at deadCenter Film Festival in Oklahoma City, ahead of its HBO debut on December 31. Becker and McDonald drew from over 750 hours of footage to draw audiences into the parallels between Y2K and our present moment. The filmmakers asked people, in partnership with the non-profit Center for Home Movies, to share their personal recordings of December 31, 1999.
